January 2016 outing report
On Friday,the 29th, the troop left the church at 6 p.m.Everyone arrived at 6:45, and the scouts started to unload the vehicles. After the vehicles were unloaded, the two sleds were put together and loaded to be taken to the campsite. after all of the gear was at the campsite, a large lean-two was built around a fire for the scouts and leaders to sleep in. The leaders prepared snack, s’mores, and the scouts were given downtime until 11, which was lights out.
The leaders woke the scouts up around 6;30. The scouts added gear on the sleds, ate breakfast, and started to head towards their first station. The scouts went to different stations across Sandcrest, using several different scout skills to complete certain tasks. The scouts worked at the stations until 11, then the scouts braked for lunch, and continued until 3. Awards were passed out shortly afterwards. The VV patrols had won third place overall. Troop 3 left Sandcrest after the awards, and returned to Mr. Sweeda’s house around 6 p.m.
